1. Information you provide
We may collect your email address, account name, authentication credentials handled by our authentication provider, project names, competitor store URLs, monitoring preferences, review or advertising source URLs, and messages you send to us.
2. Information generated through use
We store public catalog snapshots, product and variant summaries, observed prices, availability, research reports, change history, usage counts, and security events needed to operate and protect the service. Public-store observations may be shared from a time-limited cache so we do not repeatedly request the same storefront.
3. Cookies and technical data
We use essential cookies to maintain an anonymous workspace, account session, security controls, and sign-in state. We may process IP-derived rate-limit identifiers, timestamps, browser and request metadata, and error logs to prevent abuse and diagnose failures. We do not use these essential cookies for third-party advertising.
4. How we use information
- Provide scans, monitoring, reports, accounts, and workspace history.

5. Service providers
MarginGuard currently uses Vercel for application hosting and delivery, and Neon for database and authentication infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Billing is currently paused; if payments are enabled later, this policy will be updated before payment information is collected.
6. Retention and security
We retain account and workspace records while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, backup, and operational purposes. We use access controls, secure cookies, origin checks, request limits, and infrastructure safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate security or recordkeeping requirements. You can also use the free calculators without creating an account.
8. International use and children
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. MarginGuard is a business research service and is not directed to children under 16.
